Actress Mena Suvari has welcomed her first child to the world.
The American Beauty star, 42, gave birth to baby Christopher Alexander with her third husband Michael Hope.
A representative for the actress, who also featured in American Pie, confirmed the baby’s arrival to People magazine.
They said: “Both baby and mom are doing wonderfully.”
The pair first announced that Mena was pregnant in October last year and the actress said she couldn’t believe the good news.
She admitted at the time that they had started trying to conceive last year and that her biological clock had been on her mind while she was trying.
Speaking to People, she said: “I’m 41 and there’s this air of like, I’ve got one foot in the grave and good luck.”
She revealed that the pair’s efforts were causing a strain on them so she decided that she “can’t do this anymore” and was “tired of stressing” over the issue.
She explained: “I was trying to feel like if it’s meant, it’s meant. I was being really open like the Aquarian that I am – if this is my path or not.”
But, after she had “let go” of the idea of falling pregnant, she noticed changes occurring with her body.
When she discovered she was pregnant she said she “relaxed a bit”.
She continued: “It was something that we’ve always wanted, but a couple months before, I had stopped calculating. I pulled back and let go, which apparently they say that that’s when it happens.”
The star said at the time that she was looking forward to getting to know her son.
Mena, who was previously married to Robert Brinkmann and Simone Sestito, tied the knot with third husband Michael in 2018 in a private ceremony. She described it as “very intimate” and “very beautiful”.
The pair had met on the set of Hallmark movie I’ll Be Home for Christmas as Michael was working in the film’s art department.
