Texas women charged in assault at Asian beauty source store

HOUSTON (CBSDFW/CNN) – Following an attack on a north Houston store proprietor was caught on digital camera, the Harris County District Attorney’s Place of work is doing the job to identify if it was racially enthusiastic, according to KHOU Tv set.

Jung Kim owns Uptown Elegance Supply on Kuykendahl. She explained on March 17, five gals arrived into the retail store and knocked over some wigs. “We shouldn’t be advertising wigs or one thing like that due to the fact we are Asian. Which is what they have been expressing,” Sungjum Lee explained.

Two of the females have been arrested. Daquiesha Williams, 22, is charged with assault and 24-year-outdated Keaundra Younger is charged with aggravated assault. Authorities mentioned Younger tried using to run over people today in the parking great deal. Both of those girls deny culpability.

“I am not guaranteed if it was racially motivated but a person factor I can explain to, no make a difference what, racial or anti-Asian or racism, no issue what, the violence is not alright,” Lee explained.

Neither the Houston Police Division nor the Harris County District Attorney’s Office environment is calling the incident a hate crime.
